Meow Wolf, Grapevine - The Real Unreal
T.O.H.F.A. (Techno-Organic Hyphal Fractured Anomaly), described by the lead artist Max Cohn as a crystalline mycelial dimensional growth, is an 11 ft tall interactive tech-integrated sculpture in the art team anchor space of Meow Wolf’s fourth exhibition in Grapevine, TX.
My goal was to bring the artist’s vision from concept to a complete fabrication-ready CAD model. I designed the structure and mechanics of the sculpture, dictating the final form of the piece and how it would be fabricated, assembled, and maintained.
The sculpture is comprised of a structural frame, 8 addressable LED panels, and a central Pepper's Ghost assembly. The Pepper's Ghost creates the illusion of a holographic image of an eye that tracks guests through the space via an integrated camera in the assembly.
Due to my expertise of the design, I led the installation of this piece on-site.
